WHAT IS SKAL?
Skål is a professional organization of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. With over 25,000 members worldwide and active in over 90 countries, Skål embraces all sectors of the tourism industry including hoteliers, travel agents, airlines, attractions and tourism media.

Skål International is an Affiliate Member of the World Tourism Organization whose mission is to promote the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism. Skål has adopted the Global Code of Ethics in Tourism, and is also a sponsor to the Code of Conduct for the Protection of Children from sexual exploitation in tourism, and supports ST- EP (Sustainable Tourism - Eliminating Poverty).

HOW TO JOIN SKAL

Membership in Skål expands beyond the networking and socializing with fellow Skalleagues of the Canadian Rockies. As an association of tourism professionals from around the world, members of Skål are encouraged to network with other members and/or clubs offering exceptional business building opportunities. Skål International promotes seminars and conferences to strengthen the industry’s professionalism and presents a strong voice on matters of global importance.

Who is eligible for Membership?

Membership of Skål is open to mangers or executive directly involved in tourism management, sale and promotions, in specified travel and tourism businesses including: transportation (airlines, cruise lines, bus, railways, ferries), travel and tour operators, travel agencies, tourism organisations, government and non-government tourism councils, hotels, convention centres, restaurants, attractions, and travel media.
